How coaching may help

Practical support for work and everyday life.

Our current service is designed for adults who already hold a formal ADHD diagnosis. Coaching is adapted to the person rather than forcing everyone through the same fixed programme.

Getting started

Break tasks down, reduce friction and find realistic ways to begin when motivation or task initiation is difficult.

Planning and time

Develop external systems for prioritising, estimating time, remembering commitments and managing competing demands.

Overwhelm and energy

Notice patterns, plan around capacity and create calmer responses when demands or decisions begin to pile up.

Routines and consistency

Build flexible routines that can recover after disruption instead of depending on perfection or willpower.

Confidence and communication

Prepare for conversations, explain needs appropriately and recognise strengths without ignoring genuine barriers.

Workplace support

Explore organisation, communication, boundaries and sustainable approaches to work-related ADHD challenges.

A clear process

Enough structure to feel clear. Enough flexibility to stay useful.

1

Start with a conversation

We explain the boundaries of coaching, listen to what support is being sought and consider whether the service is suitable.

2

Agree the pathway

The goals, structure, frequency, communication method and any funding or referral requirements are confirmed before delivery.

3

Coach around real priorities

Sessions focus on current barriers and practical experiments, with approaches reviewed and adapted as circumstances change.

4

Review progress

Useful changes, remaining barriers and next steps are reviewed using measures appropriate to the individual and pathway.

No universal session promise: the length and structure of support can vary between individuals, employers and funded referral pathways. Any agreed programme is confirmed clearly before coaching starts.

Funded pathway

WorkWell Newcastle is now open.

Eligible Newcastle residents may be able to access Motion for Mind coaching as part of wider WorkWell support. WorkWell—not Motion for Mind—assesses eligibility, confirms funding and decides whether the opportunity is appropriate.

Help completing the form

With the applicant’s agreement, Motion for Mind can support them by telephone while they complete the official form. We do not make eligibility decisions and the applicant remains in control of the information submitted.

Gateshead update

We have been advised that the Gateshead WorkWell route is expected to become available around November 2026, subject to confirmation. Gateshead residents should not use the Newcastle form unless WorkWell specifically directs them to do so.

Important: Motion for Mind cannot promise that somebody will qualify for WorkWell or receive funded coaching. Public information may change, so the official WorkWell team and referral form remain authoritative.

Employers and referral partners

A flexible service—not a one-size-fits-all package.

We can discuss ADHD coaching with employers, charities, employment services, social-prescribing teams and other organisations. The scope, length, outcomes, reporting and commercial arrangements are agreed privately for each pathway.

Clear authority before delivery

Funding, purchase-order or payment arrangements are confirmed before a participant is promised a place.

Participant-centred onboarding

The participant is told what coaching involves, what information is required and what may be reported to the organisation.

Proportionate reporting

Only agreed administration, attendance or outcome information is shared. Confidential coaching notes are not routine funder reports.

Configurable delivery

Programme length, pace, meeting method and outcome measures can reflect the person and the commissioning arrangement.

Professional boundaries

Clear about what we do—and what we do not do.

Non-clinical coaching

We do not assess or diagnose ADHD and do not provide psychotherapy, counselling, medical advice or medical treatment.

Data minimisation

The public website does not ask for diagnostic reports or detailed health histories. Initial enquiries can be made by email.

Safeguarding

Concerns are handled through defined safeguarding and escalation processes. Email must not be relied upon in an emergency.

Honest communication

We do not guarantee eligibility, funding, employment, health or personal outcomes, and objective claims must be supportable.

Not an emergency service: call 999 or go to A&E if somebody is in immediate danger. For urgent mental-health help that is not an emergency in England, use NHS 111 online or call 111 and select the mental-health option.

Accessible by design

Fewer barriers, clearer choices.

The website and coaching experience are designed to reduce unnecessary cognitive load while keeping information accurate and complete.

Adjustable reading

Use focus view, larger text, underlined links or the optional read-aloud control. These choices are off by default and are not stored on your device.

Communication choice

Where practical, appointments may be offered by telephone or an agreed secure video platform.

Reasonable adjustments

People can ask for an agenda, extra processing time, camera choice or another practical adjustment without sharing their complete history.

Contact Motion for Mind

Start with the right conversation.

Tell us whether you are asking about coaching for yourself, supporting somebody with their knowledge, or contacting us on behalf of an organisation. We will explain the relevant next step without promising acceptance or funding.

Business enquiries

Email is the current contact route for coaching, referral-partner and workplace enquiries.

Please do not send diagnostic reports, complete medical histories or urgent safeguarding information by ordinary email. We will explain a suitable secure route if sensitive information is genuinely required.
